Embarcadero Plaza will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of French culture on Bastille Day, July 18. This free public event, organized under the patronage of the Consul General of France in San Francisco, Florian Cardinaux, is a warm invitation to Francophones, Francophiles, and the entire Bay Area community to come together and revel in France’s rich heritage.
City Guides celebrates Bastille Day (the day commemorating the storming of the Bastille Prison) throughout the month with our ‘Paris of the Pacific’ tour. This tour is a tribute to the significant influence of the French on San Francisco’s society, particularly in food and fashion. The French have left their mark on our city, and without them, it would be hard to imagine San Francisco becoming the sophisticated, cosmopolitan metropolis it is today. Join us on this tour to learn more about this fascinating aspect of our city’s history.
