Private Group Tours

In the last decade, more than 300,000 walkers have explored San Francisco’s history, culture, landmarks and neighborhoods on foot with an experienced volunteer member of San Francisco City Guides on one of our many public walks.

But – did you know you can arrange that same great experience for your group in a private tour?

Let City Guides help you plan a private tour for your group and explore San Francisco the way it was meant to be experienced: On foot, for an up close and personal look at a great city, with a guide who knows San Francisco inside and out.

We can arrange a walk where your group can experience the bohemian atmosphere and Italian heritage of North Beach…gaze at palatial hotels and hear about who built them and visited them…or learn about the delightful and sometimes whimsical differences of our classic Victorian architecture. You can take a stairway walk or hill hike to see the City in a new and wonderful way.

Our tours are always intimate, and we can cater to the needs of your group, whether you prefer an easy stroll along the waterfront, an exploration of hidden gems in Golden Gate Park, or a challenging hike up one of the City’s famous hills. San Francisco City Guides has been leading tours of our wonderful city for more than 43 years — we know all the facts, all the details, the rumors and gossip, the myths and the truth behind them – and “where the bodies are buried” (or, in San Francisco, where they used to be buried).

Private group tours can be arranged for a special date and time. It may be possible to coordinate more than one tour for a day-long event. We can customize tours for your corporate group and even can come to your office or event to provide a historical presentation.

Please contact us at least three weeks in advance so we may arrange your dream tour.
