Join this short, fascinating walk about Bohemian women through a small slice of Russian Hill. Enjoy spectacular views of San Francisco and the Bay while listening to amazing stories of non-conventional women who rejected societal expectations of the time and lived life on their own terms. Learn why San Francisco, and especially Russian Hill, was a haven for Bohemians. You’ll hear about a few groundbreaking female artists, writers, athletes, and activists who pushed society forward and left a lasting impression.

Please note: this walk includes some of the most steeply graded hills in Russian Hill. Steep hills can be challenging.

Tour Length: Approximately 60 to 75 minutes.

Location

1200 Greenwich Street.

At the base of the steps leading up to the Alice Marble Tennis courts, Greenwich and Hyde Streets, in George Sterling Park. Tour ends at Francisco Park.
