San Francisco weather in August is sunny and mild during the day. The nights are cool with Karl the Fog hanging over the city most of the time. August is a pleasant month with temperatures in the range of an average low of 56 F and an average high of 72 F.
As with most months, it’s always best to wear layers during your visit. Once the sun comes out, it may take a few hours for that nightly fog to burn off. It almost always does, although some days it hangs around longer than others.
