August in San Francisco

San Francisco’s weather in August is sunny and mild during the day. The nights are cool with Karl the Fog hanging over the city most of the time. August is a pleasant month, with temperatures ranging from an average low of 56°F to an average high of 72°F.

As with most months, it is always best to wear layers during your visit. Once the sun comes out, it may take a few hours for that nightly fog to burn off. It almost always does, although some days it hangs around longer than others. City Guides always recommends that you wear comfortable walking shoes on our tours.

There are some exciting events scheduled for August in our City. Why not spend the day in Golden Gate Park, taking one of our fabulous walking tours and then listening to some incredible bands?  Is Fringe more your style? Spend the day taking one of many downtown San Francisco walking tours and then take in an evening performance at the Taylor Street Theatre for the Fringe festival.
