March is a magnificent time to visit San Francisco, with smaller crowds than in summer. It’s also an exceptional time to get in a visit before the summer fog (aka Karl the Fog) sets in.
Our weather in March is cool with some rain. Most days are pleasant with a little wind so it’s a great time to visit. As you plan for your trip, you will want to prepare for temperatures in the upper 40s to the lower 60s.
San Francisco is a walking city with lots of hills, some of them steep enough to take your breath away. Pack comfortable, broken-in walking shoes for running around during the day. Always, dress in layers.
Don’t forget to “spring forward” on Sunday, March 12 when Daylight Saving Time returns.
Enjoy Saint Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 in San Francisco. Start the day with one of our fabulous walking tours and afterwards grab lunch at one of our lively Irish pubs here in our treasured City.
