Gardens in the Sky: Salesforce Transit Center and Rooftop Park

Neighborhood: SOMA

Description

Stretching for four blocks, the Salesforce Transit Center is a unique structure anchoring a new neighborhood and connecting San Francisco to its suburbs and beyond. Most enchanting (and unknown to many locals) is its rooftop park, which showcases multiple botanical gardens, a redwood forest, a gondola, and a captivating fountain.

Stroll with us through this San Francisco landmark, where we will see the transit center’s soaring Grand Hall, experience its multimedia public art, walk among hundreds of trees and plants, and take in alluring skyline views. Stay for food, drink, and free entertainment, which can be found and enjoyed in the park’s performance areas, grassy lawns, and children’s playgrounds.

The tour is flat and includes use of elevators, escalators, and/or a gondola lift.

This tour is given in collaboration with Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA), which owns and operates the Salesforce Transit Center. For more information on TJPA, visit their website.
