Our Walks Are Back!

City Guides walking tours have been a favorite Bay Area activity for over 43 years. We love our walkers, especially our local neighbors who share our love of San Francisco and its rich history.

We are now offering a selection of over 35 walks that are the most popular favorites of our walkers. We’ve also specially modified our tour protocols with health and safety in mind. So whether you live in San Francisco, across the Bay, down the Peninsula or anywhere else in the Bay Area or state, we invite you back to experience City Guides. (Of course, our walks are open to all, so if you’re visiting, you’re welcome to sign up and come along with us!)

Here’s what you need to know about our safety measures, including pre-sign up requirements:

  • We take health and safety seriously in this era of COVID-19. To ensure the health of both walkers and guides, our walks will follow a strict no-contact policy. In order to maintain six-foot social distancing, attendance is limited to 20 people or fewer on a walk.
  • Walkers must sign-up in advance on our website.
  • In keeping with public health guidelines from the City of San Francisco and the state of California, proper face coverings will be required. You must bring your own; we are unable to provide them, and you will not be allowed on the tour without one.
  • Our walks are free, but we are supported almost entirely by walker donations. To maintain our no-contact policy, guides will not accept donations at the conclusion of our walks as we have in the past. Instead, you will be given the opportunity when you register to make a suggested $15 per person donation online. We hope that you’ll consider making that donation so we can keep walking!
