Fall is the best season for a City Guides Tour!

Fall has arrived in beautiful San Francisco. During this season the area is especially warm and fog free, so it’s the perfect time of the year to visit our beloved City. Our popular walking tours have been a favorite Bay Area activity for over 43 years. Our Guides love what they do – and we love our walkers, who share our fascination with San Francisco and its rich history.

We are now offering a selection of over 45 different walks on our fall schedule. So, whether you live close enough for a day trip or plan a longer visit, we invite you to experience the history, folklore, culture and characters of San Francisco through a walk with City Guides.

Here’s what you need to know about how to enjoy a City Guides walking tour:

  • Walkers should register in advance on our website. It’s easy and takes just a minute. When you’re done, you’ll receive a confirmation email with details on where to meet for the tour. There are tours that have limited capacity due to the location or venue. These tours require registrations which is noted on the tour page, look for “Registrations Required”.
  • Our walks are two hours or less; some are just an hour.
  • Our walks are always free – but we’re able to do that thanks almost entirely to donations from our walkers. You will be given the opportunity when you register to make a suggested $15 per person donation online
  • If you missed the opportunity to make a donation when registering, our Guides will pass around our recognized “golden envelope” at the end of the tour. Our Guides do not accept personal tips – your donations go entirely to support the organization. We hope that you’ll consider making a donation so we can keep walking!
