This special two segment PRIDE tour starts in the Castro under the giant rainbow flag at Market and Castro Streets at 10:30 AM. You will hear the stories and feel the momentum that played a role in making the Castro one of the epicenters of the gay rights movement — and a place where LGBTQ+ people began living openly – a tradition that continues today.
Following time to grab lunch or a coffee in the vibrant Castro district, the tour continues at 2:00 PM on Folsom Street, where you will learn about the leather sub culture that flourished at one point – and see what remains of this vibrant subculture today.
